Events and Attractions in London

Earls Court is a great location to explore London from, not just because of the easy transport links but because of Earls Court itself. Earls Court has so much to offer with some of London's best bars and restaurants in the area.

The National Gallery (Trafalgar Square - 4 miles from hotel)

If you prefer something a little less modern how about the National Gallery? The Gallery displays Western European paintings from the 13th to the 19th centuries. Admission to the Gallery is free.

Wimbledon (6 miles from hotel)

The oldest tennis tournament in the world that lets us know summer has arrived. Usually served alongside side strawberries and cream with the occasional grey cloud - a great event if you are lucky enough to get tickets.

RHS Chelsea Flower Show (3 miles from hotel)

Attended by 157,000 visitors every year the RHS Chelsea Flower show is an extremely popular five day event dedicated to all things horticultural.   

London Fashion Week (5 miles from hotel)

Held twice yearly in February and September London Fashion Week is guaranteed to bring in the crowds.

London Marathon (5 miles from hotel)

Held once a year alongside the River Thames, this 26 mile race is one of the largest in the world. With over 35,000 runners the atmosphere is always grand even if the weather is not. 

Chelsea and Fulham Football Clubs (Chelsea 1.8 miles and Fulham 3 miles from hotel)

These clubs draw many thousands of spectators every month, so if you fancy watching a great match with a pint and a pie you can't go wrong with a ticket to see one of these two

London Eye (5 miles from hotel)

This is a great Platform to see London from. The London Eye takes the idea of a “big wheel” to a whole new level. A fantastic attraction for all the family – as long as you do not mind heights.

Tower of London (6 miles from hotel)

This majestic fortress is set on the North bank of the river and is most famous for housing the Crown Jewels. Once a prison it has also welcome a few other famous guests such as Queen Elizabeth I, Anne Boleyn, Lady Jane Grey and Sir Walter Raleigh. It is also rumoured that a few executed prisoners still roam the building to this day.    

Buckingham Palace (3 miles from hotel)

Home of the queen, there is little wonder why this attraction draws so many visitors. A magnificent structure set in aptly regal grounds – a must see for anyone wanting to see all the sites

Houses of Parliament (5 miles from hotel)

An imposing building set on the Middlesex bank of the river. Named so as it is home to the Houses of Commons and Lords. The Houses Of Parliament is an excellent example of British architecture which also includes the historic landmark of big Ben.

Westminster Abbey (5 miles from hotel)

A Gothic Style church built around 1080. Today the abbey is the official worship place of the royal family holding many important events such as royal wedding and coronations it also entombs many late monarchs.

Come and see what all the rave reviews are about! You will never see another profomance like it. The costumes alone are enough to make this production phenomenal. A great show that all the family are guaranteed to enjoy.

Phantom of the Opera | Her Majesty's Theatre (4 miles from hotel)

Andrew Lloyd Weber’s timeless masterpiece is now in its 26th year. With spectacular scenery and special effects you are sure to be spell bound by its captivating storyline and sensational score.

Wicked | Apollo Victoria Theatre (5 miles from hotel)

A spin on the classic children’s story “the wizard of Oz” it tells the tale of a misunderstood witch who just does not fit in because she is a little different from her school friends (she’s green). A funny and vibrant show suited to all ages.  

Les miserable | Queen's Theatre (3.8 miles from hotel)

Les Mis is a hugely popular show which is based on a French Novel by Victor Hugo. It has been running in London since 1985 making it the second longest running west end show after Mousetrap. It tells the tales of countless characters struggling for redemption and revolution in France in the 19th century. An all singing production which will have you captivated from the moment it begins.
